Wesak Day At Mahavihara

As today is consider a Wesak Day in Malaysia and some other countries (but not in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and some other countries), so Jean and Me decided to go and pay our homage to The Buddha....
In the Church???

Hehehe! Shot plug meh? Of cause not in the Church la. This Church is just a few blocks away from the Buddhist Mahavihara that we are going, so we stop by to take some pictures first lor.

This is not a morning market ok, this is a charity food fair hold by the temple along the way outside the temple ground.

Jean and me decided to buy two flowers and candles from the Tri-Ratana Children Home to offer to Lord Buddha.

The flowers are very beautiful..... I love the purple and pinkish colours.

Me and our flowers before the offering
Look there are so many people queueing up patiently waiting for their turn to go into the main shrine hall to pay homage and placed their offerings to the Lord Buddha.

We are still waiting patiently for our turn to go into the main shrine hall under the hot sun and in the middle of the crowd.

Wow! Just look at the crowd!!!! So many people at the temple Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! (Well done! Well done! Well done!)

Well at last, it's our turn to go into the main shrine to pay homage and to placed our offering to the Buddha.

The Buddha Image in the main shrine hall.

A Reverend is sprinkling holy water and chanting the Parita (Verses of protection) to bless the devotees.

Wow.... a long queue again?

After our blessing session, we proceed to the next counter to take a small bottle of holy water.

Next, we proceed to the next building which is called something like The International Stupa to pay our respect to the relic of the Buddha and the relics of the Late Chief Rev. Dr. K Sri Dhammananda.

The relics were kept in this glass stupa which is placed in the middle of the building.

Besides the Holy relics, there are lots of Buddha images from different countries and era being display around the small building. It feels like walking into a some kind of Buddhist Art Museum.

Here are some of the Buddha Images being display. I took this pictures with my Nokia 6120 as my camera has already run out of batteries so the photos are not that clear.

Me pay respect to The Lord Buddha.
There are many different types of Buddha images there.

After paying homage and taking photos, we decided to went home and I cannot find my RM 9 pasar malam slippers.... so I asked Jean to help me to go to the stalls outside the temple and buy a new pair of slippers for me. As I am waiting at the temple ground, I was getting bored so I took a few photos with my hand phone.
